Education & courses

The one introducing your business course to students is the one reselling your seat.

We measured the Brazilian education niche. Seven of the twenty page-one positions belong to scholarship platforms and course comparators, pages that sell the institution’s own seat at a discount. It is their text the AI reads when asked where to study.

The layer that settled between you and the student

We measured the page-one positions for this niche’s real buying questions. Institutions hold half the space. The other half belongs to whoever lives between them and the student: scholarship platforms, course comparators and a forum.

Seven positions belong to intermediaries and two to a forum. These pages compare institutions on their own criteria, discount size, commission, commercial partnership, and it is that comparison the assistant summarizes when someone asks where to study. The institution enters the answer through the intermediary’s version of it.

And technical preparation splits the sector in half

We tested the sites of five of the largest education institutions in the country. Two passed both basic automated-reading tests. Two did not return their site content to an automated reader at all. One landed in between.

A split sector: half prepared, half invisible to anyone reading without clicking. And whoever is invisible cedes space precisely to the intermediary, who is professional at this, comparing and ranking institutions is their business, not a side task.

The institution’s advantage is the one nobody can copy: it is the primary source on its own courses. Curriculum, faculty, accreditation, employment outcomes, fees. None of that has to pass through a third party. It just has to be written in a way a machine can quote.

What this means in practice

The comparator picks the order, not you

A scholarship platform lists institutions by what is best for it: available discount, commission, commercial agreement. When AI summarizes the page, it repeats that order as if it were a quality assessment.

The student’s question is specific; a generic answer will not do

Nobody asks "which university is good" and stops there. They ask by course, by format, by city, by price. Each of those is a door, and whoever wrote its answer walks through it.

Questions from people who run institutions

We recruit heavily through scholarship platforms. Is that bad?
Not bad. It is a dependency. The student arrives through them, and the institution pays for that on every enrolment, indefinitely. What the measurement shows is that those platforms also dominate the AI answer, which deepens the dependency rather than easing it. Having your own answer is what creates an alternative.
We are a small technical school, not competing with the big networks.
The measurement shows the opposite of what you would expect: among the institutions that appeared are regional schools and technical centres, alongside the national networks. The technical and vocational course questions are specific, and specificity is where the smaller school has a real edge.
Our site has everything: curriculum, fees, faculty.
Having and being read are different things. Half the institutions we tested did not return their site content to an automated reader. The information exists, but it does not reach whoever builds the answer. The free check shows which of the two cases is yours.
Do you promise more enrolments?
No. We promise honest measurement and work actually done: show what AI answers about your institution today, fix what is wrong or missing, and measure again. Enrolment depends on course, price and market, things outside our hands.
